Gobordanga Hindu College, a Govt. Sponsored co-educational
Degree College affiliated
to the University
of Calcutta,got
Grade 'A' accrediation
from national Accrediation
Commitee (NAAC) of University
Grant Commission
of India.The college
was established
in 27th November,1947
just after the Independence
of India.
It
has two shifts.
Day which is exclusively
for Bachelor of
Arts(BA), Bachelor
of Science(B.Sc)and
Bachelor
of Education (B.Ed)
stream
and Evening exclusively
for bachelor of
Commerce(B.Com)

are several Under Graduate
faculties where most of them
are Honours courses ( both
in day and evening section),
one vocational courses and
some of the faculties are
Employment generation Training Scheme.College alos privides
computer Literacy courses
for all the students.Round
about 7000 students,69 full
time permanent teaching staff
apart from a good number of
contractual teachers and 54
non-teaching staff from the
bedrock of the college

College is located at Gobardanga,24 Pgs(N), West Bengal ,India.almost 58 k.m. from
Kolkata,Capital of West Bengal.Gobardanga is a historic place in ancient India. The ernst Jamindar
Bari, Baro Taraf, Choto Taraf,Kali
Bari,the anient Town hall, The
Historic Melar math, The Rriver
Jamuna ,with all the above tourist
spots Gobardanga is a very nice
place to see.As
The College is situated at the
heart of Gobardanga, very close
to Gobardanga railway station,
various regular railway services
are available. There
are also frequent bus services
avialable from Gobardanga to
Kolkata via Habra and Barasat. |

College is governed by a statutory
Governing Body that is constituted with
nominated members from the
State Government, eminent
personalities from Locality,
teaching and non-teaching
and student representatives.
The Principal is the executive
head of the Institution, but
several Sub-committees like
Finance Committee, Purchase
commitee, Examination Commitee
are the key bodies formed
with teaching and non-teaching
staff for proper functioning
