Generally according to merit
; however, the policy for
admission is decided in the
meeting of the Admission Committee
each year. The college imparts
education to more than two
thousand boys and girls at
the Degree Level in Arts,
Science and Vocational (Major)
streams. It has earned a special
reputation as a centre of
learning for the Scheduled
Castes and Tribes and for
other backward classes. We
have, we feel, a special responsibility
towards these students and
towards those from poorer
families who had so long been
denied the light of education.
At the time of admission,
therefore, boys and girls
coming from strata of society
are shown special consideration;
even after admission their
problems are dealt with sympathetically.
The date and time for issue
of Admission forms are announced
through the College Notice
Board within a few days after
the publication of the results
of the Higher Secondary Examination
conducted by the West Bengal
Council of Higher Secondary
Education. Students are asked
to contact college Day office
for information and forms.
